Eastwood City Wi-Fi Promo

After leaving the office early today, I redeemed 3,000 pesos worth of receipts at the information booth of Eastwood City and got myself three hours of Airborne Access’ Wingspan pre-paid Wi-Fi cards. Eastwood was congratulating itself for being the first “city” to have full Wi-Fi coverage and it’s celebrating by having a promo in partnership with Airborne Access. Basically, every 1,000 pesos worth of receipts dated this January 2007 from any Eastwood City establishment nets you a free 1-hour Wi-Fi access!
Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Place Pioneer both offer free mall-wide Wi-Fi while Shangri-la Plaza Mall have also offered mall-wide Wi-Fi access (via Airborne Access again) so this Eastwood City achievement is really not notable. But the promo itself is quite good which is why I’ve been harvesting my receipts for redemption. (It’s a good thing that I don’t throw away my receipts.) I’ve also solicited the help of my officemates and now I have a daily supply of ~500-peso receipts.
Another good thing about this promo is that since these are Wingspan Wi-Fi pre-paid cards, I can use them in any of AA’s more than 500 hotspots nationwide. I’m not tied to consuming the access only in Eastwood City, which one would’ve expected from a free Wi-Fi promo like this.
Even if you have a post-paid Wi-Fi account (like AA’s Horizon) or you regularly go to Galleria, this promo is still good since you can sell your cards even at below the denominated value. The cards are not stamped “Not For Resale” so it’s all kosher.
I wonder if I can get another glitch in the AA matrix like last time? I wrote there that I got two hours from my 1-hour card. I actually got three since the usage was reset again when I tried using the card one more time.
