It’s official. I just got my Japanese visa yesterday so I’m going to Japan next week on a company-sponsored trip along with two of my groupmates (five of my groupmates are already in Japan and one of them is coming home tomorrow). I’ll be in Japan for 4 weeks which means that this will be the first time I’m spending Holy Week away from the country.
For those interested to know, I’ll be staying at a weekly mansion near the Kawasaki Station (where the JR Nanbu Line intersects with the JR Tokaido Line), in Kanagawa-ken, just outside of Metropolitan Tokyo.
I’m both apprehensive and excited at the same time. While this is not the first time I’ve been out of the country (I’ve been to Canada for a similar duration of stay 7 years ago), this will be the first I’ll be going without the family. But, I’m already looking forward to going to Akihabara, the consumer electronics Mecca of Japan, as well as Shibuya and Shinjuku.
Anyway, I’ve going to do some shopping this weekend buying some essential stuff. Including that laptop I mentioned before (I don’t think I can survive more than a week without a personal computing machine of my own).
Wish me luck!
